Twas the week before halloween!

Hello all my Tipsy Travelers!

Hard to believe that Halloween is just around the corner. For many of us it is a time to dust off that favorite costume, make a last minute run to the grocery store, and create a fabulously tasty bevy while you watch the Nightmare Before Christmas (one of my favorite Halloween movies). Here in the Witch City things are a little different. Traffic seems almost like a living thing. Tourists wind around every street corner like a massive shoal of fish, and keep amassing to almost a breaking point in the days counting up to Halloween. People press down Essex Street like potatoes in a good chowder. The feeling that hangs in the air that final night is almost palpable. You can feel the energy in every street performer, tour guide, and breath of wind. And just when you feel like the excitement has reached its peak, November dawns clear and cold. Locals breathe a sign of relief, another Spooky Season over, another Halloween in the books. They are estimating that there may very well be over a million people that visit Salem this year! I can believe it, the weather this year has been marvelous. Speaking of marvelous, I hope you all have a marvelous time here in the Witch City. Please be patient while waiting for the restrooms, use the crosswalks, tip your servers, and say hi to Salem Jack!

Peace, love and cocktails,

KJ
